The book Wei Cheng in its original version must be a fantastic-one. This abridged version is a good tool to learn the language, especially the MP3 is well done. But you need a good dictionary, the vocabulary is at places difficult. Pinyin makes it quicker to use the dictionary, but I made a tool to cover it in order to learn to remember the Chinese characters. If uncovered, the pinyin is too easy to refer to in case you do not remember the character immediately. The music in the MP3 could be placed at the end of each chapter, as now, when returning to the beginning you are every time forced to listen to this merry music before you get into the text itself. Very good book for us, learners, but at least I needed to ask help from my Chinese friends to understand some most difficult parts of the text.
